Doornrivier 4×4 Adventures

Doornrivier 4×4 Adventures lies in the transition zone on the edge of the Kalahari, just outside Zeerust on the road between Gaborone and the Madikwe Game Reserve.
It is a unique location where the terrain changes from open grasslands and bushveld plains to rocky outcrops and jagged mountains.
Such variety in such a small area creates many opportunities to really test the capabilities of any vehicle.
Its positioning on the R49 also makes it the ideal stopover en route to Botswana and Namibia. Doornrivier offers a playground testing area and four excellent trails from 3-70 km, with mountainous, rocky and sandy terrain.
Two of the trails are scenically orientated and two are technically more difficult. In the latter, only natural obstacles have been used. The trails are mostly mountainous, scattered with rocky obstacles including ascents, descents and a few cambers and cross-axles. Sand is interspersed here and there for good measure.
Be sure to tread extra carefully during the summer rainy season; many sections will keep you either on the edge of your seat or knee-deep in mud when they are wet. Low-range is recommended.
