There has been a lot of comment about the lack of short outings for 4x4 owners in Gauteng, vehicles are kitted out, but due to the lack of time and finances, longer expensive trips are not practical.
Imagine meeting at a set point, early every Saturday morning, bringing your 4x4 and camping gear and joining a convoy for an overnight out in the bush. Every weekend, a new destination or trail within easy driving distance from JHB/PTA. No bookings, no fuss.

Have you thought of joining a local 4x4 club? Clubs do this kind of thing all the time. I'm in the Western Cape, but as far as I know the Gauteng chapter of the Four Wheel Drive Club of Southern Africa is pretty active.

I think this is a great idea and would support it when time and money allows it.
