Pepper sauce

Add bite to that steak

I have yet to encounter someone who doesn’t like a thick pepper sauce on a steak. This is an easy, tasty recipe that you can rustle up in no time.

Enough for 4-6 people:

  • 1 x 380 g tin Ideal milk
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour, mixed with ½ cup Ideal milk
  • 2 tablespoons coarsely ground peppercorns
  • salt to taste

Stir quickly and simmer. Heat the Ideal milk in a small saucepan. The moment it starts bubbling, add the cornflour mixture and stir with a whisk so it doesn’t form lumps. If you prefer a thicker sauce, add another tablespoon of cornflour, but just remember that the sauce thickens when it cools, so serve it the moment you’re done with it.
