Rich and tasty
Nowadays most people take a freezer along into the bush, so chances are that there’ll be ice cream when you pitch camp in the Central Kalahari. Serve this rich chocolate sauce with ordinary vanilla ice cream.
Enough for 6 people:
- 1 x 100 g slab Lindt chocolate (70% cocoa), roughly broken into blocks
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup caster sugar
- 1 x 250 g container long-life cream
Use two saucepans. Use a small saucepan that fits into a bigger one. Pour boiling water into the bottom one and fit the smaller one over it. The water shouldn’t touch the top saucepan.
Melt the ingredients. Add the butter, sugar and cream in the top pot and cover with a lid. Wait until the butter and sugar have melted and the mixture is hot. Add the chocolate blocks, but don’t stir it. Once the chocolate has melted, you can stir it through once so the sauce is mixed.
