Surrounds:
Where the magic and mystery of the Northern Cape's Diamond Coast were once hidden behind impenetrable security, De Beers is now welcoming 4x4 visitors to savour the delights of the dune route, the Strandveld Trail. The area offers a wonderful combination of pristine coastline, huge inland dunes and spectacular West Coast scenery.
The trail:
A fantastic Dune route deep in DeBeers territory - a completely out of place and unexpected amidst an otherwise stark coastal setting. The route Strandveld offers a 4x4 experience that's hard to match. The trail challenges both novice and experienced drivers and will keep even old hands at sand driving entertained. What's more, it's completely eco and vehicle friendly. That's not to say you can go wild on the trail as it demands a great deal of tactical driving and as much driving finesse as you can muster.
Note: There are ostriches in the dunes, so you may have to detour to avoid their breeding grounds.
Accommodation:
Self-catering cottages, with full catering available for groups.
Camping:
You can make use of their camping facilities. User stories
