Surrounds:
Nzikasi is a guided trail with an enjoyable mix of scenery and driving conditions as it threads its way through forestry plantations, indigenous bushveld and tribal land adjoining the boundary of the Kruger Park.
The trail:
The trail explores some of the terrain previously used by tour guide Johan Brummer on the Luphisi Trail and includes wide river crossings, a drive down a rocky riverbed and a climb up huge granite koppies that offers an eagle's eye view of the surrounding bushveld. Much of the route is on secondary access roads and tracks, although there are sections where drivers must pick a way carefully through the bushveld along faint tracks seen only by your enthusiastic guide. If you're lucky you'll see some wildlife; one group met elephant up close and personal on the south side of the Kruger fence. While the route isn't daunting, it isn't suited to soft-roaders.
Accommodation:
There are numerous options in the area.
